Thermcraft, Inc., had a previously applied waterproof system that had failed a few years back. Also, the factory enamel on the metal sheets was gone in many areas. A revamp on the waterproofing system plus a coating was necessary.

Every time we would fix a leak here and there for this customer, three or four more would pop up in completely different areas. A waterproofing system was the only way to ensure no more leak issues with the roof. We plan to coat this air-conditioned bowling alley next year.

In historical districts these old-fashioned Terne metal roofs are everywhere. Most have been painted, coated, or neglected. We removed a low quality aluminum paint, sealed all seams and flashings, and applied the white elastomeric coating to minimize energy costs in this old house.
